If you want a garden closer to your house, you can engage in a “do-it-yourself” project and come up with a pallet herb garden just like the one in the image. You need some supplies, some materials but it won’t cost you much and the results will pay off all the time invested in this project. You need a kiln-dried pallet. You will also be needing some nails and scrap 1×4 wood, scrap block 4×4 wood, scrap 2×4 wood, some wheel and hardware/screws and a wood stain. You’ll also use staples, protective clear coat, fabric weed barrier, potting soil and of course the herbs that you wish to grow in your new garden. Give the pallets a good scrub and bleach them as well. Sand the wood to get rid of the splinters. Because you need to attach a wheel, you have to add a piece of scrap wood to the bottom of one side. You need some support for your pallet herb garden so you need to have a 4×4 block at the other side of the bottom. Make sure both sides are leveled.
This design will allow you to easily move your garden around and place it wherever you want it to be. You also have to stain the pallet using any wood stain you find at any hardware store. Wipe the wood stain away after applying it. Let the pallet dry for a few days. Spray a protective clear coat, too. You can now plant whatever you like. If you want some recommendations try planting: rosemary, dill, oregano, basil, parsley, thyme, peppermint, lavender and tarragon. The scent that these plants will give will make the garden seem enchanted.
